Last Days of Summer...

Only one week left till school starts. They are ready, I AM READY, but we have to have a little more fun first so we hit up the zoo and our favorite splash pad! B wins for both of my favorite pics on this post. B pretending to be a meerkat and B begging me to play baseball with him AT THE SPLASH PAD. The kid is a junky! He takes his glove with him everywhere! Good bye summer. Hello SCHOOL!!!...

Hey RI/D, It’s your BIRTHDAY!

We Gonna PARTY like it’s your BIRTHDAY!

We love going to Quincy and playing with Amanda, Chris, Rilea & Dylan! We got in the night before the party and Amanda and I stayed up way too late making way too many cupcakes and taste testing WAY too much homemade butter cream frosting! We groaned and laughed all the way to bed. It’s random time with my sister like that that I love the most! “Remember that time we almost puked from eating so much frosting?”

The party was a blast! We played at a playground and had water fights and opened presents and ate even more frosting (this time on top of cupcakes though). Good times had by all!

Chirs’s dad Jim let us stay the night out at the farm. I love going out there! It does my heart good to see the kids without electronics and running around getting dirty, catching frogs and bugs and exploring! Those yuppy kids snap out of it quick when they get out in the fresh country air! Roasting dogs and brats and mallows… one of our favorite things to do!

We had an awesome weekend of course! Thanks for letting us party with you guys! We love you and miss you already!!!

INDIANAPOLIS!!!

We decided to take a last-minute weekend trip to Indianapolis before summer ended! We were excited to go the open house of the Indianapolis LDS Temple and to play with The Buttars, Rich’s uncle, Jeff, and his sweet family. Day one Rich had to work so he stayed at the hotel while the kids and I met Tiernae and the kids at their community pool for some cooling off and lunch!

That afternoon we went on our temple tour! It was such a unique experience walking through the temple with my forever family. I love seeing the peaceful look on the kid’s faces as they went through each room. The spirit was so strong. We all felt it. Being there with them was a humbling experience. I think many, including myself, take for granted the blessings we have and the family God chose for us along with the fact that we can have this family for eternity if we follow our Savior! I hope this experience sticks with all of us. I hope when life is hard that we can remember how we felt within those sacred walls.

After our temple trip Jeff & Teirnae’s kids babysat so we could go on a double date! SCORE! They took us to Bub’s for burgers and shakes. We had the famous “BIG UGLY”, a 22 oz patty smothered with bacon and cheese. We were warned about how big it was. We should’ve listened! OH. MY. GOSH. It was so delicious though! They had to roll us out when we were done Lol!

The next day we went to the Indianapolis Children’s Museum. It is one of the top ranked Children’s Museums in the whole country, and for good reason! We had been there before when Bailey was a baby, before the Buttars moved there. I knew it would blow the kids minds yet again! I was right! What made it even better was having the Buttars kids there with us! William was the best museum guide ever!

Old School games were hilarious with the kids!

Before saying goodbye we enjoyed some delicious ice cream! Bug REALLY fell in love with Brooke and was so sad saying goodbye! She gave me a good smile for a picture though.

Wish we could've stayed longer but we had a BLAST!!! More deposits in the family memory bank!!! Thanks for showing us a spectacular weekend Jeff & Tiernae!!!
